Create a Discord Application

  1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal.
  2. Click on “New Application” and give it a name.

Configure OAuth2

  1. In your application settings, navigate to the “OAuth2” tab.
  2. Under “Redirects”, add the following URL:
Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name where the application is hosted.

Get Client ID and Secret

In the “OAuth2” tab, you will find your Client ID and Client Secret. Keep these values handy as you will need them in the next step.
Discord doesn’t show your Client Secret after creating your application. So you need to reset it in order to get the value. Make sure to copy and save it securely, as you won’t be able to retrieve it again.

Configure the application

Update your application’s configuration file (e.g., .env) with the following values:
Replace your_discord_client_id and your_discord_client_secret with the values you obtained from the Discord Developer Portal.

Create a GitHub OAuth App

  1. Go to the GitHub Developer Settings.
  2. Fill in the required fields, including the “Application name” and “Homepage URL”.
  3. Under “Authorization callback URL”, add the following URL:
Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name where the application is hosted.

Get Client ID and generate Client Secret

After creating the OAuth App, you will see your Client ID on the app’s page. To generate a Client Secret, click on “Generate a new client secret” and copy the generated value.
Make sure to keep your Client Secret secure and do not share it publicly.

Configure the application

Update your application’s configuration file (e.g., .env) with the following values:
Replace your_github_client_id and your_github_client_secret with the values you obtained from the GitHub Developer Settings.
